I am a fully qualified adult education teacher. I have diverse international teaching experience and currently deliver courses in communication and leadership skills, basic literacy and health and wellbeing. I teach students at all ages and competence levels, in the workplace, community and classroom settings, in classes of all sizes, including online.
As an educational consultant, I engage in a broad range of international research and writing projects. These reflect my passion for enhancing critical thinking skills and incorporating the Māori concept of ako [teaching/learning] within student-centred learning. Encouraging authentic learning for learning's sake kanohi ki te kanohi [face to face] is crucial. My philosophy takes on new meaning in our post-covid era for reclaiming free speech and Human Rights.
My specialist research interests are educational quality assurance strategies and professional identity. My published writing includes academic peer-reviewed texts, creative prose as well as journalism. Learn more about my expertise and my publications.
